Last Few Days to JEE Advanced 2019

Only a last few days are left to one of the most awaited yet toughest exam. The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) or JEE Advanced 2019 is scheduled to be held on 27 May, 2019 in India and abroad. JEE Advanced is conducted for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and only the students selected in JEE Main can appear in JEE Advanced.
As you all must be aware, the JEE Advanced examination consists of two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II which will be held in two shifts, 09:00 IST – 12:00 IST and 14:00 IST – 17:00 IST respectively. . Both the papers have objective type questions from 3 sections namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.JEE Advanced will be held in fully computer based test mode.
It is very usual of students to feel worried and apprehensive at this point of time when the exam is just a few days away. But this is the time when you need to be confident as you have been preparing for a long time now. Don’t let uncertainties and fear take a toll on you.
Here are a few tips on how you can utilize these last few days in the best possible way to master your preparation for JEE Advanced 2019:
1. Revise the Concepts
Your primary focus should be on revising what you have already studied. You have put your best efforts till now so do not take a chance on it by skipping revision. Remember, revision is as important as preparation itself. Plan your revision strategically.
Make a plan and distribute your time accordingly in order to revise all the important topics on time. Revision helps you revive all the concepts quickly in your mind and helps enhance your confidence and make you free of any kind of anxiety and fear. So, revise strategically and master your strengths.
2. Study Schedule Is a Must
As only a last few days are left, it is very important for students to make a plan and study in an organised manner. Study schedule is a must have at this point of time. It would help you avoid any kind of time wastage and unnecessary hurdles. Moreover, it allows you to utilize your time in your own way considering your pace and style of learning and revising.
3. Not the Right Time to Start Anything New
This is surely not the right time to start anything new. So, if you have any such plan in your mind, consider dropping it. Remember, you have studied well enough so just be confident and do not stress yourself unnecessarily. Do not get misled by people or fellow students who ask you to do so because what suits them and their style of learning, might not go well with you. Everyone has their own way of learning so do not get carried away by anyone’s thoughts.
Follow the mantra, “practice makes a man perfect”. Solve as many mock tests, sample papers and previous year papers as you can but, in a proctored environment. Solving question papers in a time-bound manner would help you master time management skills thereby improving your performance. Also, regular practice would build your speed and accuracy.
5. Relax Yourself
This is perhaps the most important tip for students appearing in JEE Advanced 2019. The countdown has already begun and this is the time when students get fearful. But what you need to do is, not let your confidence down and this can be best done when your mind is relaxed. Indulge yourself in the activities that interest you. These activities do not need to be related to academics but it can be anything like listening to music, jogging, talking to a friend or anything else. It should be your utmost priority to keep your mind free from any kind of tensions and anxiousness.
6. Stay in Touch with Your Teachers/Mentors
Never hesitate from approaching your teachers for doubt clarification or guidance in whatsoever matter. If you still have a doubt or lack conceptual clarity on any of the topics, just pen down those doubts and discuss it with your teacher(s). You do not need to hesitate from talking to your teacher. Teachers are there to guide you on your path.
7. Do Not Ignore Yourself
Make sure you take enough sleep and good diet during these days. It is very important for you to stay fresh and active on the day of exam and that will happen only when you would start taking proper rest from today itself. A good sleep and diet would stimulate your memory and increase the attention span. Also, avoid junk food at least till the day of JEE Advanced 2019 and eat nutritious and healthy food. Try eating more green vegetables and fresh fruits.
One last tip of advice, trust yourself and your preparation. Do not let anxiety interfere with your preparation. Whatever you do, do it with a relaxed mind.
